Join in the fun at Central Louisiana's BIGGEST Halloween extravaganza. This family-friendly Halloween experience is three nights of SPOOKTACULAR, SCARE-FREE fun!

Enjoy Halloween activities for kids at the Festival Plaza, photo ops, and sweets and treats along the trick-or-treat trail through the Zoo.

Treat bags are provided.

Discover a fresh spin on interactive kids activities that will have you howling with excitement. Test your skills on the "paw-some" agility course, snap a photo with pet and barn yard characters, and enjoy new pet-themed games and activities.

Children 12 years and younger can gather up goodies as you travel from station to station. Guests of all ages will receive a special treat from our Black Cat sponsors and a soft drink courtesy of Coca-Cola of Alexandria. This trail leads to the exit of Zoo Boo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Zoo Boo is a one-way trail through the Zoo, which is divided into three sections. The first section of the trail features photo opportunities with characters and decorated scenery. The second section of the trail is an interactive carnival at the Festival Plaza with kid-friendly activities and music. Visitors can enjoy the Festival Plaza area and activities in any order and at their own pace. When they are ready, they can rejoin the trail at the start of the trick-or-treat section, which leads through the rest of the Zoo to the exit.
Kids ages are encouraged to wear costumes but it is not a requirement. Since this event is geared toward families with young children, ages 14 and older may not wear masks that cover the face.

Trick-or-treating is reserved for kids ages 12 and younger. There are lots of decorations, photo ops, music, and activities for all ages to enjoy.

No. Zoo Boo is the Zoo's largest fundraising event. FOTAZ memberships and other zoo passes are not accepted during Zoo Boo.
There is no longer a scary trail. Zoo Boo is a friendly, non-scary Halloween experience geared for families.
While you may spot a few night owls during Zoo Boo, most of our residents will be off-exhibit to catch some zzz's.
Parking is available in the Zoo's main parking lot on Masonic Drive. There is additional parking at the Youth Baseball Complex and down Babe Ruth Drive. Carpooling is encouraged.
