Each summer kids in kindergarten through the 8th grade can spend a whole week learning about the zoo and its unique residents during Summer Safari.
Each class is geared to a specific age group and sessions include activities, crafts, behind-the-scenes tours, snacks, train rides,
animal encounters, visits with zookeepers, plus a t-shirt and souvenir DVD. Summer Safari classes enable your child to experience the Zoo and its animals under the guidance of certified teachers, trained volunteers and Zoo staff.

We haven't forgotten about the little ones! Zoo Cubs is a Saturday class for preschoolers ages 4 and 5. Zoo Cubs activities include: encounters with animals, story time, train ride, and snack.
The zoo awards scholarships for Summer Safari each year to children in Kindergarten through the 8th Grade.
Businesses or individuals can sponsor scholarships by donating to FOTAZ Summer Safari Scholarships. Class cost is $85 per child for each one week class.
